Trawden Council in double planning appeal victory

Two planning application appeals in Trawden have been rejected by the Government's Planning Inspectorate, resulting in a double victory for the local Council.

The applications for planning permission at Hall Meadows and Cowfield Farm, Trawden, were both dismissed, and signal the final opportunity of appeal for the applicants.

Both buildings will now be subject to enforcement measures which could see them demolished.

Halls Meadows: Timber Shed
The Planning Inspector said the replacement timber shed was 32sq/m larger than the building given planning permission, and that it would represent harm to the Conservation Area.

Cowfield Farm: Rural Worker's dwelling
The Planning Inspector said he saw the building as a "prominant and obtrusive feature" with "non-traditional" materials which add to the "inappropriate appearance of the building."
"I conclude that the proposal, due to its siting and design, would be harmful to the character and appearance of the area and to the CA (Conservation Area)."
